A leader in data science and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, Quantiphi has presence in over 6 countries, operating with 7 offices and employees from 30+ nationalities. To manage the vast workforce and make the most of their talents, Quantiphi needed a simplified, one-stop solution for enhanced resource allocation and functioning.
With brainstorming sessions driven by design thinking and user-centric principles, we were all set to design an intuitive, intelligent platform.
Challenge
Quantiphi’s resource management was dependent on spreadsheets. However, managing the right talent with projects, tracking resource availability, especially with a growing pool of thousands of employees across different regions, together, made the whole process quite cumbersome. For precise resource planning and efficient project migration, a robust, scalable solution was just the need of the hour.

Our approach
Quantiphi’s resource dashboard, Quantiphi SPLAT (Service Platform) catered to different types of users and operational needs. We aimed to design a platform that offers an intuitive and user-friendly experience for resource management. Our plan of action was to enhance the existing processes, in order to keep the learning curve minimal, while also creating improved, smoother, and more effective workflows with the SPLAT dashboard.
Understanding the users
Project Managers
For every new project that comes in, project managers need to break the project down into various tasks, subtasks, and skills required to complete it. By creating these tasks, the dashboard will provide a clearer overview of the status and milestones of the project.
Delivery Managers
Once the project manager creates tasks and prerequisites, the delivery managers match the required skills to available resources. The dashboard will help make the process of resource planning and allocation a lot smoother.
Employees
The dashboard will provide teammates with a quick overview projects and tasks - past, present, and future, if assigned. They can explore available opportunities, and if their skill set complements any new task opening fittingly, they can take it up and learn something new!

Designing a scalable solution
While designing this resourcing dashboard, our focus was on creating a system that prioritizes clarity, usability, and scalability. We aimed to design a platform that facilitates intuitive resource planning and allocation, and delivers a visually consistent experience while doing so. By utilizing a component-based design, we also saved flexible room for future updates to maintain uniformity all throughout. And finally, we presented real-time data integration through a clean, minimal design, reducing cognitive load and encouraging efficient decision-making for all the users.
Exploring the SPLAT dashboard
A huge upgrade from spreadsheets, the SPLAT dashboard streamlines the entire process of resource planning and allocation by bringing it all under one platform. It is empowered by advanced features such as skill-matching tools, real-time tracking of bandwidth and bench periods, and a comprehensive multi-level approval process. These features collectively ensure that the right talent is smoothly allocated to the right projects, with minimal effort. Additionally, the dashboard provides insightful analytics to help managers make data-driven decisions with ease. Translating all these features, and more, with simple and effective design, is how we delivered a smooth user experience.

Implementation of the Quantiphi SPLAT dashboard has optimized the resourcing processes with reduced manual effort and improved decision-making.
